A multimedia lab was designed to enable faculty in the development of multimedia content and courseware. A "digital lounge" supports less formal, yet networked, learning activities coupled with recreation and other on-line applications. Specific concepts for smart multimedia-based classrooms were created to integrate computer-assisted presentation technology with data and video communications.

Computer conferencing with interactive messaging and e-mail are available to facilitate network-based distance education and collaboration. Also central to the design are depositories of information that include on-line digital media libraries, interactive access to remote databases, program/data archives, campus-wide information systems, and information search and retrieval managers.
