An Emmy-winning professional with more than 26 years experience in the technology industry, Don brings unparalleled credentials and a proven track record in project management, facility design and system design.
While working for the leading international provider of television production facilities, Don consistently delivered successful project control on aggressive timelines while consistently managing multiple projects. Project management experience includes assignments for Warner Bros., Walt Disney Imagineering and Feature Animation, and the US Air Force. He has managed the building or upgrade of over 40 broadcast facilities with a total budget exceeding $120M, including eight broadcast trailers for NASCAR coverage, three facilities for ESPN, and the high definition broadcast center used for NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
Don was awarded an Emmy® recognizing Outstanding Individual Achievement for exceptional television coverage of the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
Phillips also has designed and/or overseen systems for Panasonic, Fox Broadcasting Company, various PBS affiliates including KQED (San Francisco) and KUHT (Houston), Optus Vision (the first national cable TV system in Australia), and a variety of other television stations, production and post production facilities, and corporate TV centers. Recent assignments for The Sextant Group include overseeing audiovisual design and acoustics for the new School of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University. Don is credentialed as a
Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) as awarded by InfoComm International.
When he is not enjoying spending time with his wife, two daughters and large extended family, he can be found volunteering in community and church.
