CHAE O'KEEFE LC
LIGHTING DESIGNER
Chae has designed and implemented energy efficient lighting solutions for large scale private and public works including colleges and universities, federal courthouses, corporate facilities, commercial buildings, aviation, and transportation projects. She is well versed in providing lighting designs that utilize state of the art LED and digital addressable lighting control equipment under programs such as LEED and Energystar.
Chae's project experience includes the design and implementation of educational projects at Rutgers University, LaGuardia Community College, and Princeton University, as well as designing for General Services Administration (GSA) federal office buildings and courtrooms. Chae takes most pride in having lead the lighting design and implementation of the Hartsfield-Atlanta International Terminal F.
Prior to joining The Sextant Group, Chae was trained as an architectural lighting designer at a prominent lighting design firm in New York City. Before that, she held internship at a notable lighting design firm in Atlanta GA, and a prominent landscape firm in Lansing MI. As an LC certified Lighting Designer with a background in architecture, Chae's specialties include project management in all phases of design, cost estimating for lighting systems/energy/maintenance, value engineering, specification writing, detailing, and hand sketching.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005 with a BFA in Architecture, and was Executive Communications Chair for the AIAS. Chae is Lighting Certified (LC) by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions and is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.
In her spare time, Chae enjoys reading, foreign films, and running.
