ALEXIS D. KURTZ LEED AP
PROJECT CONSULTANT / ACOUSTICAL CONSULTANT
As a seasoned project consultant, Alexis leads multi-disciplinary teams, supervising the project from development and design to commissioning. A leader in the emerging field of acoustics and sustainability, she serves on panels and presents papers at professional conferences around the world, promoting the interdependence of these two fields.
Over the tenure of her consulting career she has been involved in a wide range of educational, cultural, and healthcare projects, with international experience in the field of architectural acoustics, and vibration control, and sustainable design. Academic project experience ranges from new classrooms and laboratories for Carnegie Mellon, Columbia and Brown to a performing arts center for Virginia Tech to atriums and libraries for Yale. She's successfully completed museums and cultural centers across the US from Austin to Atlanta, Seattle to New York, and internationally from Spain and Greece to China. An extensive transportation portfolio includes Dulles International Airport, JFK Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, while commercial office projects range from publishing giant Conde Nast to a retail and entertainment complex in Incheon, Korea.
A LEED Accredited Professional, Alexis was appointed in 2007 as a Core Member of the LEED Indoor Environmental Quality Technical Advisory Group, one of only three acousticians in the USGBC's Acoustics Working Group. She has also has been nominated as a member of the 2010 Class of National Peers in the US Government Service Administration's (GSA) Design Excellence and the Arts Program. National Peers are identified as distinguished private-sector design professionals who are selected to be critical voices in the formal review of all Federal government projects in the GSA's Design Excellence and the Arts Program.

In her free time, Alexis enjoys skiing, SCUBA diving, traveling, boating, swimming, hiking, biking and pursuing photography. She also plays piano, strums the guitar, and sings. During football season, she might also be found routing for The University of Miami Hurricanes and The Buffalo Bills.
