JOHN COOK NAMED PRINCIPAL OF THE SEXTANT GROUP

Pittsburgh, PA, October 1, 2001 --
The Sextant Group is pleased to announce the addition of John Cook as Principal. Prior to joining The Sextant Group, John enjoyed a highly successful career in the audiovisual systems integration business. He participated on the design team of eight national award-winning projects. Facilities recognized in the “Best Presentation Rooms” contest by Presentations magazine and Training journal, were a video conference room for Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), a board room for Kennametal, a conference room for The Duquesne Club, two auditoria for Allegheny General Hospital and the training center at DDI (Development Dimensions International).

For the “Best Telecommunication Installation” competition by Gentner Communications Corporation, his award-winning projects include the boardroom at Allegheny General Hospital and the boardroom at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was also on the design team for other renowned presentation and conferencing spaces such as: The Steelcase University Learning Center in Grand Rapids, MI, the Sales Training Center for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, IN and a number of spaces for Marconi Communications in Warrendale, PA. In total, John worked in audiovisual systems integration field for 12 years and was involved with hundreds of projects involving Instructional Technologies and Presentation Systems.

John’s education includes an M.S. from Purdue University in Educational Technology. While at Purdue, he was an Instructor in the Schools of Technology and Education and co-authored a research study published in a refereed journal on the effectiveness of Computer-Based Training.
