SMPS FEATURES VALENTI WORKSHOP

Mark Valenti, President

will be the featured presenter at a
workshop presented by the
Pittsburgh Chapter of the Society
for Marketing Professional Services
(SMPS) on November
7, entitled Change Beyond the Speed of Light:
Are your
Buildings Wired or Tired? Though the focus of the workshop
is on technology in higher education, Mark will provide an
introduction
to a wide-ranging set of technologies that will
change the way we work,
learn, and play. Smart buildings,
process simulation, digital
wallpaper, and intelligent fabrics
are but a few of the topics to
be explored in this vision of
what the future holds for design and
construction of the
workplace, the learning space, the living space
and even
what we wear.
Mark is one of the nations foremost authorities on the
integration
of technology and the learning environment.
He has determined
strategies, set overall project goals
and objectives, developed
technology master plans, and
created innovative learning spaces for
nearly 70 institutions
of higher education in over 30 states. He is
a frequent
lecturer and workshop leader at national and regional
meetings of the Society for College and University Planning
(SCUP)
and a faculty member of the Institute for Facilities
Management of
the Association for Higher Education
Facilities Officers (APPA) where
his topics include
Emerging Technologies and the 21st Century Campus,
The Digitally Integrated Learning Environment and
Planning
and
Design for Future Technologies.
