TEAM ACHIEVES TOP HONORS FOR
'BEST EDUCATIONAL AV PROJECT'
FOR UNIVERSITY LEARNING COMMONS
AUGUST 27, 2008 PITTSBURGH PA – Technology consultant The Sextant Group and architectural firm Pfeiffer Partners are among the premiere winners of the Spotlight Award by ProAV Magazine.
The team was honored for outstanding audiovisual design of Santa Clara University’s Harrington Learning Commons, Sobrato Technology Center, and Orradre Library.
The much-heralded 194,000 SF facility boasts integrated information organization and infrastructure with 
leading-edge instructional technologies, data and telecommunications synergies. The project was named “Best Educational AV Project” from among all entries received from across the US and Canada.

Originally dubbed the "Library for the 21st Century," the technology-rich facility was designed around an open learning commons approach, offering project team rooms, specialized classrooms, and teaching labs. Featuring state-of-the-art wired and wireless network solutions, the facility also includes an automated retrieval system with the capacity to store 1.1 million volumes.
