DAVID McDIARMID JOINS TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING FIRM

JANUARY 22, 2008 CINCINNATI OH – The Sextant Group, a nationally recognized, independent consulting and design firm specializing in audiovisual technologies, information technologies and acoustics, announces the addition of David W. McDiarmid CTS as Senior Consultant to head the newly-opened Cincinnati office.

The new office offers dramatically improved access and better services from one of the nation’s top technology consulting firms, recognized by architects and clients internationally for the integration of technology into the built environment. The Sextant Group specializes in Audiovisual and Information Technologies, Physical Security, Acoustics Consulting, and Strategic Technology Planning & Program Development.

McDiarmid brings a demonstrated record of success in design and construction management of audiovisual and informational technology systems, from higher education to healthcare to the corporate sector. As a manager for a leading mid-west independent manufacturers’ rep firm, he explored and introduced innovative, high-impact and emerging audiovisual technologies for a wide range of clients from University of Notre Dame to The Cleveland Clinic to General Electric.

David offers higher education clients unique credentials and valued perspective gained from a decade of experience as a professional educator. As such, his expert design skills span the spectrum of technology systems for classrooms, labs, board rooms, conference rooms, libraries, and beyond.

Academic achievements include a Master of Arts Degree from Middlebury College and a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University. McDiarmid is also an avid world-traveler having lived in France, Switzerland, and India, and is fluent in French. He is active in professional organizations that include the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and InfoComm International, through which he is credentialed as a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS). Additionally, Dave is certified by dozens of audiovisual manufactures, and has conducted technical training sessions on dozens of products for audiovisual contractors across the Midwest.
